Saturday, September 24th, at 7pm PDT, the aptly named California Clásico, the rival game between the San Jose Earthquakes and LA Galaxy, will kick off. California residents are sure to enjoy a fun evening at this much-anticipated match. The match was originally scheduled for June 25 but was rescheduled following a power outage at Stanford University. As part of the opening ceremony, Team Fastrax™ will perform an amazing aerial display with their 1,100 sq. ft. US flag, and smoke. The performance will also include a demonstrator with an Earthquakes parachute, flying an Earthquakes flag. The spectacle will be shown on the stadium screen with help from the team’s live air-to-ground video.

According to the Earthquakes’ website, the Epicenter will open at 3pm and will include a photobooth, food trucks, Youth Zone with face painting, hair dyeing and soccer darts, and a DJ. Immediately following the Team Fastrax® performance, a pre-game ceremony honoring the military will be held. Halftime will feature a performance from the Sacramento State Marching Band and will honor players and coaches who have competed in previous iterations, including Victor Bernardez, Sam Cronin, Clarence Goodson, Alan Gordon, Jason Hernandez, Steven Lenhart, and Jordan Stewart, among many others. Following the match, fans will enjoy the largest fireworks show in the Bay Area, produced by Pyro Spectaculars by Souza, Inc.
